A second half with a number of personnel changes for the Devils saw a superb Derek O'Neill goal on 63 minutes to put the Devils 2-1 ahead and a second from Gildea on 68 mins, put the match beyond doubt.

Marking his first week in a Devils shirt, Philip McGuinness scored a 4th on 86 minutes and followed up with his second and the Devils 5th on 87 minutes.

Man of the Match - Brendan Gildea.

A great game, played in a very competitive spirit by both teams, with a huge collection of sideline supporters from near and far cheering on both teams.

Match Report

Dublin Devils FC 4 – 3 AIB Corporate

It was a first 11 a-side outing of the season for the current IGLFA European 6 a-side Champions, meeting an AIB Corporate eleven at UCD.

An end to end first 15 minutes was brought to life with a superb Ivan Stevens goal on 15 minutes. Not to be outdone, almost from the kickout, AIB hit back to level it at 1-1. Rallying the troops, the Devils hit back and on 17 minutes Stevens got a second cracking goal.

A very dubious penalty was awarded to AIB on 25 minutes when Gordon Ormsby was deemed to have handled the ball which bounced off the tip of his shoulder. After a 1st scored penalty was ruled out, the 2nd also hit the back of the net to go into half time tied at 2 apiece. The Devils started the 2nd half with some new faces and first Arnaldo Gibelli skyed the ball over an open goal and then tonight’s Captain Brendan Gildea rattled the crossbar with a powerful shot that deserved to go in for him.

‎20 minutes into the second half, AIB hit back again and went ahead for the first time in the game. With 12 minutes left, Gibelli made up for his earlier miss with a great goal to restore parity. The battling spirit of both teams was evident as they each tried in vain for a winner. After Stevens had an earlier free kick goal disallowed at 3-2, in the last minute of the game, when given another opportunity, he hit the net again to record his own hat trick and a 4-3 win to open pre-season for the Devils.

Devils Team – Sullivan, Cadogan, O’Rourke (McQuillan), Ormsby (Gibelli), Lee (McAree), Carroll, Gildea (C), Grehan, Donegan (Hayes), Stevens, Gogarty

Scorers – Stevens 15, 17, 80, Gibelli 68
